Branson Art
Rex and Vickie Branson, local artists in Marble, have spent almost 40 years carving wood and stone. Before moving to the Crystal River Valley they made their living on the road displaying carvings at shows and teaching classes. Now, most of their work sells locally at vendors in Marble and Redstone.
The Branson family enjoys many happy hours carving together, and winter slows everyone down to be with family and friends. The kitchen is full of delicious smells and warm evenings carving wood by the fire, and it’s a time to be thankful for the crazy, wonderful summer. One of their favorite parts of the holiday season is unwrapping ornaments.
Through the winter, you’ll find many of their finished carvings at the Redstone General Store, with their most popular items being the wooden Santas, marble snowmen, and cedar driftwood faces.
