To The Echo’s dear supporters, contributors, and wonderful readers,
On April 17th, my husband underwent a successful surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., to remove a mass that we have now learned was completely benign; however, a week later he began experiencing extreme pain that was a complication from the original procedure. After rushing to Valley View’s emergency room, he was transferred back to St. Mary’s Hospital where they performed emergency surgery to save his life due to an infection the doctors felt was becoming out of control. We spent nearly a week there during a very slow recovery process and are now home in Redstone.
The Crystal Valley Echo is a small, family-run publication, in which the primary duties are performed myself with some help from my husband, as well as contributions from a few wonderful, loyal writers for whom I am so grateful. Unfortunately, in a situation such as this, I do not have a staff that can keep the publication running in my absence.
At this time, I am choosing to focus on my family and regret to inform you that we will not be producing a May edition of The Echo simply because I could not meet the deadline and juggle aiding in my husband’s recovery along with the demands of another full-time role at Bonfire Coffee in Carbondale. I’m so sorry, but we will be combining our April and May coverage into the next edition that will hit the stands once again on June 1st.
All contracts and subscriptions will be extended an additional month. You will also find the Town of Marble’s April Meeting Recap along with a Letter to the Editor on our website and social media, as those two submissions were the most timely. We greatly appreciate your regular support!
If you are interested in advertising or contributing to the June edition of The Crystal Valley Echo, our rates/specs can be viewed by visiting: thecrystalvalleyecho.com/rates, and the deadlines are as follows:
Thank you so much for your kind notes of encouragement as we have gone through this process; I am pleased to report that, although slow, is going well!
Sincerely,
